Earth and Sky

As we move through this world, we soon see the shapes and textures that make up the landscape around us. We watch as the weather rolls over it. Summer sun blazes, drying it till the grass turns white. Storms smash in, rivers surge and land subsides. Over time the relationship between the land and the sky can be seen as a dance. The land tries to tell the weather how to move, and the weather alters the landscape as it does.

This relationship has always amazed me. Growing up in New Zealand I have seen cyclones sweep in. I have seen volcanoes erupt. I have seen winter storms that blanket the whole country in snow and I have seen hillsides turn purple because grass cannot survive the harsh climate but other plants could.

These images are my attempt to capture the beautiful and ever changing landscapes that I am lucky enough to call home.
