Island Bay, Wellington

There are times when images lie hidden in the distance, and this was one of those cases. I was showing a newer photographer the advantages of using a teleconverter on a camera when I saw this scene from Pariwhero (Red Rocks). In the foreground you can see the dark shapes of Taputeranga Island against the sea spray being blown by the wind. It reminds me of how small we really are, even though this coast is part of Wellington city, man’s influence can barely be seen
