Lambton Quay, Wellington

As I mentioned earlier I love how long exposures change everyday scenes into something new, revealing what is hidden from our normal sight. This photograph was captured using infrared light only, the trees glowing in the summer sunlight as Wellington roasts on a hot day. The crowds hunting for a bargain in the boxing day have been transformed into a white mist which I am sure how businesses see us, not as people but as a mass of money waiting to be harvested. The sign screams “Forever new” the drug consumerism wants us to consume… the stuff we have is old, less interesting… but new stuff, it must be better right?
