Wharf Piles

I love photography where the shutter is open for minutes at a time. These kind of photographs render the world in ways that the human eye cannot immediately perceive. They reveal a truth hidden from our vision. The stormiest days can be rendered into tranquil moments where we find peace. I am not sure about others, but that’s the magic of walking on the beach in a storm. The wind racing by, filling my ears with a white noise that allows me to relax and feel the power. No matter how often our brains whisper in our ears, we can influence things but we are not in absolute control of anything.

This image is a composite, a choice of how I remember this scene. Not every detail is important, in fact some details are just distractions.
